About Dr. Shukavak N. Dasa

Dr. Shukavak Dasa is the Head Priest of the Hindu Society of Inland Empire, Hindu Temple. He has held this position for 21 years. He is a professor of Hindu Culture at Claremont School of Graduate Studies (CGU) and the Eldercon School of Theology.

He is the Director of the Sanskrit Bhavan Institute, an organization to promote Hindu studies in the West. He is the author of numerous books including Hinduism, The Encounter with Modernity, Ganga Flows West, Bhagavad Gita: A Translation and Study, and an annotated translation of the Upanishads.

Dr. Shukavak N. Dasa holds a PhD from the University of Toronto in South Asian Studies and an MA in Sanskrit Grammar from University College.
